Well, mummy had been admitted to hospital on 03/10/03 (again!) with high blood pressure and a +1 of protein in her pee. Her pee also showed she had a urine infection. She was kept in overnight and saw a doctor the following afternoon who said she should go home for the night to get some proper rest and then come back at 10 o'clock on the 05/10/03. She had some more bloods taken and I was monitored some more and then a different doctor that mummy liked came to see her. This doctor had already told mummy that he would not let me be born after 40 weeks so he said that i could come on that day as soon as there was a bed ready for me. When the bed was ready, mummy was taken down to the labour suite and then m/w put some heartbeat detectors on mummy's tummy to listen to me. She then felt mummy's cervix and told mummy that she was already 3cms dialated and would not need the special gel that the m/w uses to induce mummy's. Then the really nice doctor came in to check as well and he broke mummy's waters. That was at 18.30. Mummy was then moved to the room where i was going to be born.

At about 19.00, mummy started to get contractions and daddy started to rub her back to help with the discomfort although mummy wasnt in any real pain. She was standing untill the m/w Lynne asked her to get on the bed for monitoring as she was a high risk delivery. She got on the bed and Lynne said she was 6 cm dialated so she was in established labour now!! At about 22.00 mummy asked for some gas and air but by 22.35 she was really starting to feel me coming and asked for pethedine. Lynne went to get it and she put a little bit in mummy's leg but mummy moved and the needle came out so she didnt get all of it. But mummy didnt need any more because at 22.44 I came out. I tore mummy a little bit but she didnt mind except she didnt like the stitches afterwards. My big sisiter,Charlotte, held mummy's hand while Lynne and Mandy put the stitches in.

I scored 9 on the apgar scale at 5 minutes because i was a bit of a funny colour but scored 10/10 after 10 minutes. I weighed in at 7lb 1oz and was 50cm long.

Mummy says that the labour was very easy and a wonderful experience for her and daddy. Charlotte says she loved seeing me being born. Everybody cried.
